Day 6 of 14: Ti Amo Dya E (Paglubad kang Binalaybay ni Charles Bukowski Nga “This Then”) A Kinaray-a Love Poetry Project

patas kang una
ukon sa lain nga tion
ukon sa tion bag-o ka r’a.
dya ang buto
dya ang putay
kag dya ang ginamo.

garing kis-a
imo ginapanumdum
ti naman-an ko run kadya:
tugutan ko tana nga himuon na
kag himuon ko dya,
indi ko ruman kinanlan dya tanan,
kasulhay lang
kag iniyutay
kag hapaw
nga gugma.

nagahulat ako tulad
kag ang mga tinuig ganipis.
ang akun radyo
kag ang pader kang kusina
duag kanaryo.
ginapangtumpok ko ang mga botilya
kag ginapamatian
ang mga lakang.

daad ang sulud kang kamatayun
mas kulang kaysa rugya.

(Original Text)
This Then

it’s the same as before
or the other time
or the time before that.
here’s a cock
and here’s a cunt
and here’s trouble.

only each time
you think
well now I’ve learned:
I’ll let her do that
and I’ll do this,
I no longer want it all,
just some comfort
and some sex
and only a minor
love.

now I’m waiting again
and the years run thin.
I have my radio
and the kitchen walls
are yellow.
I keep dumping bottles
and listening for footsteps.

I hope that death contains
less than this.
